Histoires de Parfums,
olfactive library

An olfactive library that is telling stories about famous characters, mythical years, poems and music.
The collection created by Gérald Ghislain is governed by no rules other than inspiration.
With his luxuriant imagination, this loquacious individual has chosen to bring his stories  to life in perfumes, a sensitive and sensual medium.
Histoires de Parfums releases its fragrances in a Deluxe edition to be read on skin.

Philosophy

Histoires de Parfums’perfumes perpetuate the French perfumery know-how, which whose features are luxury, nobility and creativity. Histoires de Parfums offers fragrant novels, musical scores and poems.
In this collection you can meet extraordinary characters, discover the most exquisite materials in the world of perfumery, delight in poetry from both the Orient and Occident, encounter sublime divas...
With this perfume library, Gerald Ghislain wanted to evoke stories through scent just as books are written with emotions.

The author

" My perfumes have never been about a quest for the most beautiful scent,
but always for the most beautiful emotion."

GÉRALD GHISLAIN

Gérald Ghislain wrote his own story with the frantic rhythm of a passionate jack of all trades. An epicurean, he tastes all of life’s savors, sprinkling his daily life with refined luxury. He gives his all to his projects. Insatiable wonderer, he listens, reads and discovers, drawing inspiration from his trips and encounters. Gerald is impulsive and fully committed to his projects.
Gerald founded Histoires de Parfums in 2000 and created a collection of rare and delicate perfumes: these perfumes like him are rich in temperament and are so, so romantic!

This is not a blue bottle

A journey from the abstract to the most fiery of emotions in the infinite realm of blue.

This is not a blue bottle derives its name from The Treachery of Images, a famous work in the 1920s by the Belgian surrealist painter René Magritte. The painting shows the image of a pipe above a declaration which reads, translated from French, as “This is not a pipe”. In between the line where things go from void to existence, there is a profound depth of possibility.
This is not a blue bottle is the allegory of a fragrant big bang, a journey from the abstract to the most fiery of emotions in the infinite realm of blue. This is the expression of an olfactory hallucination and a blue page representing freedom of expression for all.

En Aparté

Irrévérent, Outrecuidant, Prolixe

[a p a R t e] loc. adv. Littér.
[ETYM. From Latin a: pars, partis: «apart, aside»].
|| Discreet conversation, in private

Like a conversation, perfume is an expression, conveyed at times in the form of a declaration and at other times a secret. There is that which can be said aloud and clearly, and that which can only be expressed in private, with the utmost discretion. Such an intention is featured in the En Aparté collection. A space offering complete freedom to elicit without compromise while coveting secrets and privacy as well. Irrévérent, Outrecuidant, Prolixe, three compositions unveiled behind closed doors at Histoires de Parfums.

Opera and perfume exalt women.

1831, 1875, 1890, 1904, 1926

Some scents like some melodies still lead in the air, intangible and yet unforgettable. Music and perfume operate with the same dazzling dynamic, they travel their notes in an ephemeral and intangible space.
The title roles of five great operas inspired Histoires de Parfum’s five sumptuous fragrances, portraits of five divas.
