Un bouquet solare di Ylang-Ylang trafigge una nuvola bianca di Artemisia. Insieme proiettano la loro luce su un sacro pilastro di Cannella e Incenso e dalle sere buie dell'Eden arriva il profumo psichedelico dei fiori di Gelsomino. Luci e ombre danzano al ritmo di venti golosi, frutti proibiti maturano nell'erba, il morso liquoroso dell'Assoluta di Rum si aggrappa alle labbra degli innamorati. La pelle di bronzo ed ebano è lambita dal calore del focolare ed emana un aroma di balsami corporei, di Ambra e Benzoino. Si avverte forte nell'aria il profumo di un amore che racchiude tutti gli amori umani. C'è soltanto un passo... dal paradiso all'inferno.

This date, the earliest in the Histoires de Parfums collection, is that of the first edition of one of the most beautiful and influential works of mediaeval poetry: la Divina Commedia. Written by Dante Alighieri, this work, divided into three books -Inferno, Purgatorio and Paradiso- is a long metaphor on Good and Evil, on sin and virtue, faith and faithlessness – more than anything, it is an exploration if not an introspection on the reality of salvation.

The sweetness of Cinnamon then flares up and introduces a base of devilishly treacly Rum Absolute, its molassey and woody scent melding with the carnal purr of an Ambergris base.
